Bangor Masonic Hall - November, 2009

And. . . . . .We’re off!!

If you’ve been a regular visitor to the web page you will notice that the U.D. (Under Dispensation) designation has gone away! The Grand Master presented our charter at the last Grand Lodge session and we are now officially in business. And What A Business It Is! I need to tell you that if you haven’t been following our activities over the past several months on Facebook or Twitter, you need take the time to ‘log on’ – it’s worth the trip!!

As with any new effort, not all things are going exactly according to plan but in the main it is working just fine. From the variety of speakers we have had to our Special Ladies program, the wheels keep turning and we keep learning. Our Special Ladies program keeps growing and has taken on a unique dimension for our lodge and those who visit. In fact, the Companions of Ira Berry Royal Arch Chapter in Pittsfield were so impressed with it that they made a very generous donation from their Charity Fund to help support our efforts. How good is that!

Amongst our other efforts we are currently working three candidates who are students at the University of Maine. The members of the lodge have been very impressed with the seriousness these young men exhibit and we all welcome the opportunity to help lead these men in their Masonic journey. Each rendition of the ritual presents its own uniqueness since this is the first time the officers have worked together and considering that we all come from different lodges, the degree work thus far has been excellent (but then I may be a bit prejudiced!) .

So. . . . . .spend some time on the website and look us over. We have everything from pictures we have taken at most meetings to an explanation of just what our “DNA” is and how we intend to keep defining ourselves. This has been a great project and just keeps getting better and better! Drop in for lunch anytime – we look forward to seeing you.

Rememeber our motto:

“Conviviality and Caring”

Fraternally,

Jerry Leighton
