Dress is relaxed and we'll add you to our Ladies' Call List so you'll be reminded of our meetings. (That's when we remember to make the calls - and, as men, you'll have to expect that this won't be 100% perfect, ok? {smile}) It would be just great to have you with us. No fuss will be made but you'll quickly become part of a very convivial group. Even if you can only join us once when you're visiting in the area, we'd still love to see you. Please: honor us by being our guest? If you're a Mason who's in the Bangor area when we're meeting (see the box on the right), Maine's newest lodge would love to have you join us for lunch and for our meeting. Lunch is open to your guests as well and is $6 per person. It's allways a great meal - if we do say so! (Our own members take turns providing our lunch so they suffer the consequences if it's not up to our standards.) We generally have a speaker during our luncheon and the Ladies of Seminary Hill Daylight Lodge (any female who is present is welcome) work on projects of interest to them while the Masons meet. At 1:00pm, Masons head to the lodge room where we open in full form. Most of our meetings havve a program of interest and education. True to our motto, you'll find our meetings are filled with conviviality and caring. We plan to end at 1:45pm but - as with almost every Masonic meeting you've ever attended - sometimes it goes a bit longer. There's no 'dress code': some members come directly from their job sites and return afterwards so don't be concerned with 'not having a tie' or whatever. Like every other Masonic lodge, you don't need to be a member to attend - but we hope you'll enjoy it so much you'll want to come back again and again and become a part of our lodge. So do join us. We'd love to extend the hand of friendship and fraternity to you.
Eating during the presentation is expected but we ask that you be respectful of the presentor and not engage in chit-chat at that time. We understand folks will be coming and going: please do so as unobtrusively as possible. Let us know if you have any ideas for speakers or programs - or, if you have something that the group might enjoy, we'd look forward to having YOU do something as well. It doesn't have to be anything fancy - just something that most will enjoy and/or learn from. |

This is a special message for Masonic widows: as a brand new lodge, Seminary Hill Daylight Lodge is fortunate in that we have no Masonic widows on our rolls as yet. However, that doesn't relieve us of the duty we've pledged to care for Masonic widows and orphans. Because we meet 20 times a year during mid-day with a luncheon each time, our lodge offers a great opportunity for Masonic "Special Ladies" to take an active part. From our very first meeting, the ladies of our members have been enjoying each others' company during the time we're meeting. In fact, they've become very involved in several charity projects all without our help or guidance. (Who would have thought?) Whether your husband was a Mason in Maine or elsewhere, we welcome ALL Masonic widows to join us at all of our luncheons - as our guest and at no cost. You'll find the company warm and convivial - and we hope you'll attend every time we meet.
We regularly hear - and we certainly know from experience - that having programs at Masonic meetings will, if planned properly, be successful and bring enjoyment to the membership. To that end, it is our goal to have a short program during each and every lunch. The presentation will start just after noon and will generally run for 30-45 minutes. The tyled lodge meeting will begin at 1:00pm.
